Dr. Anne Beal is the Chief Patient Officer for Sanofi. In this role, she is supporting a culture of patient-centeredness that ensures patients, their needs and priorities, come first in all of the work of Sanofi to ensure our capabilities are aligned and focused on improving patient outcomes as a strategic differentiator. Dr. Beal promotes a vision of Patient Centered Solutions where people take control and improve their healthcare outcomes to positively impact their health and lives.

Prior to joining Sanofi, Dr. Beal was the Deputy Executive Director and Chief Engagement Officer for The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) in the U.S., which was created by the Affordable Care Act to improve health care delivery and outcomes by helping people make informed health care decisions based on research that is guided by patients, caregivers and the broader health care community.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Beal was President of the Aetna Foundation, the independent charitable and philanthropic arm of Aetna Inc. The Foundation promotes wellness, health, and access to high-quality health care for everyone, and its programs focused on addressing the rising rate of adult and childhood obesity in the U.S.; promoting racial and ethnic equity in health and health care; and advancing integrated health care and care coordination.

Dr. Beal’s career in philanthropy started at the Commonwealth Fund. Early in her career, Dr. Beal, was Associate Director of the Multicultural Affairs Office of Massachusetts General Hospital, an attending pediatrician within the division of General Pediatrics, and held faculty positions both within Harvard Medical School and the Harvard School of Public Health.

Dr. Beal’s research interests include social influences on preventive health behaviors for minorities, racial disparities in health care, and quality of care for child health. While at Harvard, she was the principal investigator of research projects supported by the NIH, AHRQ, the Commonwealth Fund, and other private foundations.

Dr. Beal holds a B.A. from Brown University, an M.D. from Cornell University Medical College, and an M.P.H. from Columbia University. She completed her internship, residency, and NRSA fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.

 

Dr. Lisa Egbuonu-Davis serves as the strategic lead for building patient centered support programs, services and tools that enhance medication adherence and improve healthcare outcomes. Lisa utilizes expertise in data analytics and behavioral science to catalyze the development, measurement, adaptation, and amplification of solutions that improve outcomes of interest to patients and their families, providers, and payers. She is particularly focused on people living with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, immunologic disorders and other chronic conditions and on improving the health care provider/patient interface to enhance patient self-management and health.

Dr. Egbuonu-Davis is a seasoned pharmaceutical executive with expertise in outcomes research, product development and commercialization and public health. She has been an entrepreneur, catalyzing the development of low cost “disruptive” medical devices to promote public health and a strategy consultant, advising biopharmaceutical companies on product and service development and on evidence generation strategies to support value. She has served as Pfizer’s Vice President of Medical Affairs and Vice President of Global Outcomes Research, developing evidence from clinical trials, observational studies, and “real world” analyses to support product value assessment throughout the product lifecycle as well as customer-based assessment of both products and services. She led the expansion of global outcomes research and created Pfizer’s US field based medical team. Additionally, she has created innovative patient focused, multi-sector partnerships to promote appropriate product utilization, health care access, quality and outcomes in populations ranging from maternal and infant health to the elderly.

Dr. Egbuonu-Davis has a B.S. in Biology at M.I.T. and an M.B.A. in health care management from Wharton; she earned an M.D. and M.P.H. (epidemiology) degrees from Johns Hopkins, completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (board certified in pediatrics) and a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania with a focus on health services research and assessing the impact of Medicaid program changes on population health.

Jan Liska aims at integrating patient-centered strategies into all business Sanofi’s activities to maximize the value of patient centeredness programs and investments across our portfolio. By building patient-centeredness as opportunity of gathering evidence of the value our products and services bring to patients all along the lifecycle, Liska coordinates team efforts from clinical research and monitoring of drug safety, through patient delivery systems and digital capabilities till commercialization and lifecycle management.

Before joining Chief Medical Office’s Evidence Generation team, Liska has been instrumental to Diabetes & Cardio-Vascular GBU business, via support to DCV GBU’s teams in translating patient insights to business action plans and building brand differentiation opportunities, implementation of LEAN management planning processes and guidance for effective operationalization of whole-person strategies, and facilitation of management of multiple chronic conditions.

Liska has acted as Cardiovascular franchise and Europe region point person within the Patient Centricity team. Prior joining Patient Centricity unit, Liska has acted as Global Patient Strategy lead for a product in the cardiovascular area, delivering multiple launch projects building unbranded patient/consumer disease awareness and optimal patient experience.

Liska has joined Sanofi in November 2011 as Global Brand Director within CHC Europe team, bringing his experience in Brand strategy, Commercial implementation and Planning, Marketing, Digital, Marketing and Customer Relationship Management and Communication/PR.

After multi-cultural studies in Paris, Oxford and Berlin at ESCP Europe business school, Liska graduated in 2001 with European Masters in Management degree specialized in Marketing & Controlling. Prior to joining Sanofi, Liska has been serving well-being and beauty leaders L’Oréal and Shiseido in various major global and regional roles.

Anjali Trasy connects the medical and commercial functions to patients with the goal of ensuring patients are continually engaged and that their needs and perspectives are incorporated into all aspects of our business – from generating patient insights to decision-making, improving health outcomes and partnering with patients to design, create, and deliver patient inspired innovations. Now emerging as a universal force, Patient Engagement is an effective lever and critical business differentiator that can enhance all of Sanofi’s activities. Trasy’s mission is to marry "patient power with patent power" and help ensure that Sanofi achieves our goal of being in the top 3 pharmaceuticals companies in the world.

Prior to joining Patient Centered Solutions, Trasy previously launched 2 diabetes brands as US Consumer Marketing Director where she spearheaded the development and implementation of Sanofi’s industry-leading COACH programs. Trasy was recognized for her patient focus in 2013 when she received the US Industrial Innovation Award for Enhancing Patient Centered Solutions.

Since joining Sanofi in 2004, Trasy has served in various marketing and staff positions within US and Global wherein she received multiple awards for developing best-in-class integrated solutions. Prior to joining Sanofi, she was at ZS Associates (Healthcare Consulting) and Oliver Wyman & Co (Financial/Strategy Consultants).

Trasy graduated from Johns Hopkins University and has an MBA from NYU/Stern in Marketing, Leadership and Change Management.

 

Maryse Beaudin contributes to Patient Centered Solutions Unit achievements as the functional lead on selected projects for promoting and implementing Patient Centered Strategies across the company: Business Planning, Tactical execution, Culture Change and Employee Engagement.

She supports building of our global, Sanofi-wide communication internal and external platforms for patient centered capabilities helping balancing strategic thinking and executing/activating plans with excellence under the Patient Business Strategy.

Beaudin joined Sanofi in 2015 as a Sr. Manager, Agency Alliance where she brought a wealth of promotional expertise and agency-side experience to advantage US brand teams, helping to optimize agencies’ performance and creative output and to provide the Brand teams and key stakeholders with up-to-date relevant Consumers and HCPs competitive information that can positively impacts Sanofi brand business.

Beaudin has worked in multiple Pharmaceutical brand categories, in various marketing capacities including HCPs, Market Access (payer) and OTC, and spent almost 10 years at Ogilvy CommonHealth, leading the HCP cross-agency integration (Consumers, Professional Education and Payers) for a J&J/Janssen cardiovascular medication.

Beaudin is a native of Montréal, CAN and graduated with a degree in marketing from Université du Québec a Montréal.

Sylvie Coumel contributes to introducing Design Thinking methodology and co-creation process with patients and HCP into across the organization to design programs and solutions which will fit into people’s lives.

Sanofi’s portfolio products, Patient Support Programs, services and tools include many solutions which aim to improve the lives of people with chronic disease. Behavioral science offers recommendations and successful approaches for improving adherence and outcomes. She enables better understanding of behavioral science and mechanisms which impact people’s behavior, as key lever for Patient self-management and adherence.

Coumel also leads the Connecting Nurses program at Sanofi, a global initiative providing nurses with a best practice sharing platform around nursing innovation and patient empowerment. This initiative was presented at TEDx and won several awards like the Ad Age Healthcare Impact GOLD award.

Coumel has a senior expertise in Global Medical Academic partnerships (cardio-thrombosis and diabetes), with a 10 year experience as the Head of communications at the French Heart Foundation and Society of Cardiology.

Coumel has a Master in Marketing and Public Health degree (Paris, France).

 

Kevin Duvall is a pharmacist and a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) who has been directly involved with patients, primarily in the area of diabetes management, throughout his career. Duvall has designed and led several diabetes education and immunization programs working with patient and HCPs on disease state management and prevention. He has done extensive work with CSII and CGMS device companies for over 10 years. Duvall has been an investigator in two Rx to OTC studies. He was awarded Clinical Pharmacist of the Year by Giant Eagle Pharmacy in 2007 and 2008.

Before joining the Patient Centered Solutions Team, Duvall previously held the title of Senior Pharmacy Account Specialist from 2013 – 2015 and most recently worked on Payer marketing.

Duvall holds a Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University, an MBA, is a CDE and holds American Pharmacists Association’s Certifications in Medication Therapy Management (MTM), Diabetes and Immunizations. He is also certified in Design Thinking through Stanford’s dS school and Gamification through the University of Pennsylvania.
